Usually an air blast if I'm not distracted with a can of cutting oil because the tap is squeaking. But I usually start each operation thats had a tool change with a clean table so the likely hood of getting a short before the swarf builds up again is pretty slim. The tool itself gets an air blast in case its dirty before I hit the r or unpause it. So it always starts each new tool clean, and the first thing is measuring the newly inserted tool. I have enough switches in the sw I've written so I can do a g92.2 to cancel any z offsets, and restart it at the top of the current routine. Its a swarf buildup after I've made the tool length measurement that is a problem. You haven't piped up for a while Tomp, I trust you are well, and no busier than you want to be? -- Cheers, Gene Heskett -- "There are four boxes to be used in defense of liberty: soap, ballot, jury, and ammo.
