kmail-1.10.9 from the Trinity fork. Nearly the same as kde at 3.5, but hundreds of bugs fixed. Just one left, probably related to its 32 bit heritage in the late 90's and now 64 bit hardware 20+ years later. Folder indexing doesn't always stop. The beep is not thru the audio, but from the pc's own 2" speaker. I guess thats so its not muted when the rest of the sound is.
