It seems lots of users use master branch, so online docs are important.

True Chris M. Of my 4 machines, 3 are running the last master. Online docs are the best answer. But there hasn't been any new html docs in a loooong time.

I use them too as building docs everytime is annoying.

But more importantly, the buildbot has always been a single point of failure
for the project.

Is there no github or whatever to do the equivalent to buildbots?

As our active dev team becomes smaller, this problem becomes more important.
Who has the knowledge to set up an alternative?

Suggestion: bookworm has not been the most stable here, so I'd suggest the next base distro be made to build on trixie or unbuntu noble, Jammy and nobel are both working very well on arm64 stuff here to host klipper and cohorts for 3d printers with no stability problems. Much longer uptimes than this wintel machine. So skip the troublesome bookworm.

Just wanted to bump this as it was brought up on the forum today. It seems
the buildbot(s) have been down since July. Docs arent being built.

2.9 debs are still being built, but only for Buster (which went out of
LTS in July, so shouldn't be encouraged)
http://buildbot.linuxcnc.org/dists/buster/2.9-rtpreempt/

You are right that buildbot2 hasn't built any debs since July:
http://buildbot2.highlab.com/debian/dists/

I don't know what the problem is there, as the grid view (etc) don't
seem to be working at all.

However, that said, _most_ users should be using the released
packages, rather than the development versions.
