The CB scheme is based on IEC950, therefore if you request just a CB report
that's all you'll typically get. However if you request your CB report to
cover EN60950 with group differences and national deviations for the 30 or so
members of the CB scheme then you'll get a report which covers everything.

Ron raised my curiosity so I looked at the single CB report which we have and
it only makes reference to IEC950 with no reference to EN60950.

Finn-Erick,

I draw exception to your comments below:

A CB report/certificate may not only refer to an IEC standard.

In the CB reports that I am familiar with, they all incorporate IEC950 and
EN60950 into the same report along with the respective amendments in force
at the time. The CB certificates indicate the standard(s) applied and which
national deviations were considered/evaluated. It's important to note here
that these reports came from 2 different NCBs.

However, if a CB report evaluation is only to IEC950, then a separate
EN60950 evaluation may be required. But if so, so much for the one-stop
shopping approach as the CB Scheme touts.

Comments from anyone with CB experience for clarification, especially the
NCBs?
