VDE used to require EUT's be kept for TWO years. Ten borders on ridiculous. What purpose would be served? Even assuming they're serious, will the equipment last for ten years, even in storage, in the same condition in which it was built? What happens to metal-to metal contacts in that time, salt spray or no? You'd have to recondition it if the NB asked you for a look-see.
