Jeff, We are getting into the "industrial" arena and have also found issues with consumer (non-industrial) computers in other areas. Since our product is tested to EN 60204-1 (Electrical Equipment of Industrial Machines; Part 1 - General Requirements), certain IP ratings need to be met. Consumer monitors and computers usuall do not meet the IP 32 rating (max 2.5 mm opening). Even some US made industrial computers do not meet this rating (Probably no intent to sell to Europe??).
We have also had immunity issues with consumer computers and monitors. We have located a consumer monitor that meets the IP rating.
