The revision as started by the council is called SLIM.

Some voices said that those immunity requirements of equipment that are not
essentially related to safety of the user of the apparatus should be
removed. At this moment several requirements exist in which apparatus should
continue functioning during the applicable test according to several
criteria in standards.
Functioning may reduce but essentially the apparatus should continue td do
it's required job, may be with reduced accuracy, but should no stop
entirely.

SLIM involves more then this. it should remove the burden of regulations and
explanatory documents, as well as fine tune standards and harmonize test
methods and limits. To my opinion, one should not expect to much of SLIM,
especially not that immunity functional requirements will be removed. This
would encourage national regulations in this matter and therefore inhibit
the functioning of the European market for apparatus. I should remember you
that the European market was the purpose of the directives according to the
New Approach.
