First thing is you need to decide what you are trying to accomplish and it eventually gets into philosophies about reliability. If you are trying to measure reliability some of the good books are: Pat O'Connor's "Practical Reliability Engineering" which is a good intro book; Finn Jensen's "Electronic Component Reliability" which is excellent also. "Handbook of Reliability Engineering and Management" is a good reference book to have on the shelf.
