Hi Carmen,
There are a couple of good sources. Mil-Hdbk-338 has some very good design
prinicples. Rome Air Development Center (RADC) produce a very useful reliability
handook, have a look on their website. Another book that I have found very
useful is "Practical Reliability Engineering" by Patrick D.T. O O'Connor.
