As I recall, the UL File Number, Exxxxx, can be used
in place of the manufacturer's name.
UL put this (and other, alternative identification
mechanisms) in place for the situation where the final
manufacturer or seller does not want to identify the
original component or product manufacturer.
Ask your distributor for a copy of the UL FUS Report,
including Section General. (On the front page of this
Report, UL grants permission to copy the entire
document.) This Report identifies the UL-permissable
configurations and content of the elements of the UL
certification mark.
As I recall, the UL certification mark is comprised of
a number of elements:
* the UL logo.
* the word LISTED (if the unit is certified as a
stand-alone product and not as a component).
* the UL 4-character control number.
* the manufacturers name or the UL file number.
The model number must also be marked on the product.
