Hello everyone, I was wondering if anyone out there can provide me with help in determining whether passive speakers and headphones are required to be CE-Marked for entry into the EU?
We have an old document from BAPT in Germany which implies that passive speakers are required to be CE Marked but this does not seem to make sense to me since there are no active components in the products and we would be declaring compliance by default. I have the same concern for Headphones. Also does anyone have a good contact person in the EU possibly with the European Commission they could share I would like to try to get some kind of official ruling on this issue. While it would be simple to CE-Mark our passive speaker products there are costs involved so I would prefer not to do it if it is not required. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide.
