John, The IEC TC77b WG-9 made clarification for what was intended to be understood as "verification" and what was intended to be a "calibration". Different words are used now, but the new version of he standard 77b/378/CDV tries to eliminate the misunderstanding by some metrologists. They think that the present standard requires a traceble calibration as a daily or weekly test, not only a yearly calibration.
