Thanks to those who responded. I found and searched the whole treaty concerning the assession of the new members states. There is mention of some other directives such auto, medical and packaing waste, but not the LV, EMC and RTTE Directives. Thus, it appears that the requirements for those three directives are in effect upon entry into the EU. The treaty can be found at
