I'm not really addressing homes at all, but a few do have installations
that rival small professional audio installations in complexity and
extent.

Yes, in one way. While the various European implementations of IEC 60364
have provisions for wiring segregation, they may not be rigidly
observed.

OTOH, I think professional audio in USA also prefers Class I.
