I have a question, which I'm sure has been asked a number of time before, but I
am still unsure as to the answer.
Must the signatory of a Declaration of Conformity reside within the EU?
Of the directives I have looked at, there seems to be some conflict:
EMC Directive - "The manufacturer or his authorized representative established
within the Community shall affix the CE marking in accordance with Article 12
and shall draw up a written declaration of conformity"
LVD - 'The EC declaration of conformity is the procedure whereby the
manufacturer or his authorized representative established within the
Community:'
R&TTE Directive - "It shall be affixed under the responsibility of the
manufacturer, his authorized representative within the Community or the person
responsible for placing the apparatus on the market."
Thanks,
Chris.
