Sir I am fondly gazing at EN 61010-1:2001. Annex D is not "gone". But spacing requirements are in Tables 3 through 8; and are discussed in section 6.7.
Assuming that this is a Class 1 device: Clearance, from Tbl 8 for Cat III and < 300V line to neutral, is 3mm BI, 5.9mm DI. Creepage, from Tbl 7 for 350V WV and PD2/MG3a, interpolates to 3.5mm BI. Primary/secondary WV is not known, so DI or RI cannot be given. Note that Annex D of UL 61010B-1 (replaces UL 3111-1) has not changed. I am surprised that your NRTL/NCB engineer allows you to submit a project when current copies of relevant standards are not available. luck, Brian -----Original Message----- From: Chris Wells [ mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Saturday, February 07, 2004 8:53 AM To: EMC-PSTC Discussion Group Subject: IEC61010-1/UL61010-1 Second edition I understand from our UL representative that IEC61010-1/UL61010-1 has evolved to a second edtion. I have been caught off gurard for this change and do not have access to this update. I am in the middle of a lot of circuit changes in layout and am caught in a tight spot. Would someone please give me a highlight of the changes relative to my Power Supply circuit? I understand from the UL rep that annex D is gone and that I can interpolate for the voltage of the circuit. If you haven't seen my other emails on the topic - the Power supply specificaiton is: 120-240VAC (-45/+20% excursion) 110-250VDC (+/-20% excursion) Note that the storage cap could reach 350VDC with nominal input of 240VAC or 250VDC) Overvoltage Catagory 3 Pollution degree 2 Bottom line is that I am trying to dertmine Creepage and Clearance (C&C) for this design and do not know what the impact is of this 2nd edition.
