I have a copy as well and was not able to find anything. The main
concern
here is for regulation of electromagnetic interference on the aircraft. We
typically manufacture radios and are required to air ship battery powered
devices that are transmitting. However, these devices are in a "sleep" mode
with only a 32kHz clock operating.
From my experience, finding out if something is legal is a lot more
difficult
than finding out if something is illegal because there may not be anything
written about it. This may be one of those situations but I would like to
know that I have looked in all of the right places.

In looking through my copy of the IATA "Dangerous Goods Regulations" I did not
find anything on this type of device. But, depending on the type of battery
there may be some things to look for. Outside of that the only other thing I
know of is for magnetic devices. For example one of our parts has very strong
magnets in it so in order to ship by air there is special labeling
requirements for the package to ensure that it is stored in an area that will
not affect magnetic navigational equipment.
