It isn't usual to measure signal power at audio frequencies with a
'power meter'. Normally, the voltage across a load resistor is measured.
Does this equipment produce a wanted audio output signal in normal
operation? If so, can you describe what sort of output connector is
provided (which will give a clue as to how to do the measurement you
need).

A simple 1 kHz band-pass filter is part of the solution. Most of the
other part is probably the correct value of the load resistor.
