Ron,

You might try looking at ISO7000. I am currently out of the office this week
so I cannot verify the symbol being in this standard. However, this standard
has a plethora of symbols with many that I
remember recognizing on various products. Maybe some of our power supply
oriented members may wish to contribute.

Subject: dc polarity symbol

Hello all,

I was wondering if anyone could direct me to a reference or standard that
specifies the dc polarity symbol that you find on ac to dc power adaptors used
for laptop computers. This is the symbol that
has a positive symbol on one side and a negative symbol on the other, both in
circles, with a circle inside a C between the two polarity circles. The C is
connected to one of the polarity circles and
the circle inside the C is connected to other polarity circle. I can't find a
reference to this symbol in IEC 60417, unless my copy is too old to have it.

Any help is appreciated.

Best regards,
Ron Wellman
