Thanks Ed and everyone else for your input.  You are on the button.  My
appologies to those I confused with my porely worded question.

I THINK you are asking for a plug-in card, or "personality module", that plugs
into the rear of the 8591, and carries a GPIB standard connector. HP's
nomenclature plan would have given this plug-in a completely distinct HP part
number, maybe something like "HP-8591xx-x".

If you find the exact number, start searching for it, especially on eBay. Also
try posting a "wanted" notice to some of the Usenet groups, like
sci.engineering.electronics, etc.
