Greetings,

As we know, currently categories 8&9 of the WEEE Directive are exempt from the
RoHS Directive. However, per the Unofficial notes of the Technical Adaptation
Committee on the WEEE and RoHS Directives dated April 19,2005, the Commission
wants to update the timetable for the review of the inclusion of categories
8&9. I am not sure just what that means, but it may be that these two
categories would be included in the not too distant future.

I wanted to ask members of the group who are producers of WEEE category 8&9
equipment (medical devices, monitoring and control instruments), what their
strategy is for compliance with the RoHS Directive.

Your responses are appreciated.

Regards

Joe Martin
