Dear Jim, Yes, an independent power supply requires approvals from China (under Compulsory Product Certification System to obtain a CCC mark) and Taiwan (under BSMI Registration of Product Certification, RPC). An IEC60950 CB report is acceptable for applying a CCC mark. Some deviation test may be required. An IEC60950 CB report is conditionally accepted for applying a BSMI RPC approval. The CB report must be transfered into Chinese by a BSMI designated lab. The CB report must be issued by an accepted lab. Again, some deviation test may be required. I hope this helps. Please feel free to contact me with any specific questions offline. Best regards, Grace Lin Grace Compliance Specialist LLC New Jersey, USA Tel: 908 647-6472 www.graspllc.com

We have received some information that power cubes (Limited power source, 220V in, 24Vdc out) need CCC for safety in China, and BSMI for safety in Taiwan. Our products have their own safety certifications to the IEC60950 type standard (with whatever national deviations are relevant). I have had a difficult time confirming that the independent power supply requires these approvals. Has anyone needed to address this, and confirmed (or not) the need for the approvals? Thank you.
