Are you aware of any standards that mandate an actual power
factor for equipment on ITE or Telecom equipment. The Harmonic current
requirements hint at it through test results and the safety standards
typically take VAR readings rather than true power measurements. Does
anybody state an actual metric i. e. Equipment will have a power factor
of .9 or something similar, maybe some of the "green" or energy savings
requirements
Thanks
Gary
I've had safety agencies measure the true power - but then did nothing
with the number other than state it. They didn't compare it to any
pass/fail value.
