Hi Koh,

In Europe an ESA shall be marked as specified by 2004/104/EC directive after
1. January 2006.
If the device is connected trough the "car 12V cigarette socket" and NOT
permanent installed and the connecting device is e-marked or ce-marked with
reference to 2004/104/EC directive you shall not use 2004/104/EC on your
device, see 2004/104/EC directive: 3.2.1. Applicability of this Directive to
ESA (Directive 72/245/EEC was the first "Automotive EMC directive"

Hi,
I had just done some searching on the Electronic/electrical
sub-assemblies (ESA) meant for automotive, especially those that drains
power from the car 12V cigarette socket.
It seems there's two type of mark.
The small "e" mark govern by EEC via 2004/104/EC directive.
The big "E" mark govern by ECE via Regulation No 10.

Which of these requirement/mark is mandatory for Europe?

Regards
Koh
