Tim, C13 / C14 connectors (IEC60320 rated at 10A for John Woodgate's benefit) are only rated at 10A, so fusing at 20A seems incorrect. You really need to condsider the current rating of the equipment. Any power cord fitted with a C13 connector will have either a 13A (for UK) or 16A (rest of EU) connector and will be fused at 13A in the plug for the former case, or at 16A in the power circuit in the latter. Either way, your coupler is only rated at 10A, so why the 20A fuse? If your equipment draws more than 16A, then the choice of coupler is incorrect and you need to be looking at a C20 connector, which would probably connect to a 32A power circuit via an IEC60309 connector or by permanent wiring. If your equipment does only draw less than 10A, then I would recommend replacing the fuse with one complying with IEC60127 standards rather than the UL standard. It is possible that your equipment employs a switched mode power supply, in which case it will consume half the current in the EU that it consumes in North America on account of the supply voltage difference.
