Hi Gary, To ask VCCI questions, you don't need to be a member. My employer is not a VCCI member and I ask questions. You may wish to send your questions to Mr. Jiro Kawano at [email protected]. Mr. Kawano is the technical manager of VCCI. Good Luck! Grace

The answer, up to this point, yes. It has been expensive and time consuming for the labs to do so. A Japanese engineering team would have to show up and audit the site and then paper flew back and forth between the lab and the VCCI with time and frustration growing. If a registered site added a second measurement site at the same facility - they had to have the whole thing repeated with the associated costs attached. Most labs that I've gone to had exactly one VCCI registered site even if they had multiple test sites. (One lab I've gone to had three separate OATS areas) Any idea how this is going to affect the manufacturers? Manufacturers also had to join the VCCI before they could submit the data from the VCCI registered labs? If they now accept the labs based on the NVLAP or A2LA certification, will we still need to submit a test report and put on a VCCI logo? I assume the Japanese phrasing will still be required as a minimum. We are not currently VCCI members so I can't ask them directly. The letter states that the original agreement text "Both NVLAP and A2LA are not valid until notification" has been removed from the VCCI requirements. If I am reading the letter from the VCCI correctly, I believe that the US laboratories now have to join the VCCI and register their sites with the VCCI to gain acceptance. Does anyone know if this is correct? I have an inquiry into the FCC but I think it involves too many Governmental links to quickly get an answer.
