EN >50332-1 and EN50332-2 Yes: the French started this stunt several years ago - steamrollered it through CENELEC and then found that without a Directive to back it up, it was useless. There can't be a Directive, because the EU can't legislate on public health matters (RoHS scrapes through because workers could be exposed to toxins). But then they found that the Low Voltage Directive includes 'radiation', which was originally X-rays from CRTs by has been interpreted to cover all 'radiation', not only EMF but sound as well! The whole concept is technically unsound. There is a pressure-group in the Netherlands trying to get those ENs called up in EN 60065 and EN 60950, so compliance would become compulsory. So far, they haven't won. In UK, we think that the effects of ALL loud sounds need to be brought to public attention, and people taught to avoid them. Clubs and noise at work are **at least** as significant as personal players. See, for example: http://www.acousticsafety.org/? http://www.dontlosethemusic.com/home/ -- OOO - Own Opinions Only.
