Public Law 110-140, previously known as HR6 is now in effect. <http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-b n/getdoc.cgi?dbname=110_cong_public_laws&docid=f:publ140.110.pdf> http://frwebgate.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin getdoc.cgi?dbname=110_cong_public_laws&docid=f:publ140.110.pdf
Of significance is that external power supplies are now covered under federal law for standby and active mode efficiency (Title III Section 301). Efficiency level IV is required July of this year; the bill was signed into law in December, providing only a 6 month transition period. A number of power supply manufacturers for mid range supplies (50W) seem to be challenged to meet the standby limit. Would anyone care to identify vendors that they have had success with in providing level IV compliant mid range supplies?
