Grace, Yes it is mandatory as of last August. For now you have the choice of using either the 1998 or 2006 version of EN 55022. The T-LISN characteristics are different for each version of the standard. There are three manufacturers of T-LISN made to the 2006 version, and my understanding from an ECANB document (don't shoot the messenger) is that the one from Japan gives different readings from the other 2 by as much as 9.4dB. Therefore there is still controversy over the subject. Buy only the T-LISN's that you need, otherwise be prepared to spend some serious coin! Regards, Bill

Is telecom port measurement mandatory per EU at this time? Section 5.2 of CISPR 22: 2005 with A1+A2 and EN 55022: 2006 lists limits of conducted common mode (asymmetric mode) disturbance at telecommunication ports. China has decided to postpone the telecom port requirement (as of early this month). BSMI (Taiwan) is discussing this requirement and has not mandated it. I believe VCCI (Japan) has not mandated it, either. In addition, if you know any manufacturers and models for ISN for Category 5 and Category 6 Ethernet port, please share with me. Thank you very much and look forward to your help.
