CQC is the voluntary mark. The process for obtaining it is exactly the same as for CCC. If a product does not require the CCC mark, but the manufacturer still wants to distinguish the product as compliant in the Chinese market, they can apply for the CQC mark.

From my understanding, a quality system certificate is helpful, not mandatory. The factory must show quality assurance. Typically, a team with two auditors inspect four factories in one trip to the US. Four factories share auditors' travel expenses. For one ITE product category, the inspection takes about 2 days. Add one more day for each additional category. Factory inspection fee, as of May 1, 2009, is RBM 2500 per auditor per day. I hope this helps.
