Tim,

Never doing is one thing but getting stuck in customs one day and then trying
to get your GOST cert in zero time can be a very challenging experience.

There is a mandatory list tying products with HS code. So if you provide me
with your harmonized tariff code for Russia I can let you know if you are
regulated for GOST.

Voluntary GOST certs can also be obtained. These are typically used for sales
or to compete with other suppliers

        Hi Peter,

Thanks for your information, it’s very kind you give us these useful
stuff.

I’d like to learn more about GOST. I don’t have such knowledge. I only
know for all of my active speakers, I never do GOST, normally I use CB instead
of it. I don’t know if there are suggestion from you.

Also there are 195 countries in the world. They claim they can do 200
countries!!! This company may be good but definitely as Tim said they need to
do a major revision to this ever changing world of regulations.

There are lots of sites on the Internet. They will get you started but
you may may never see the finish line!!! And for Russia GOST, there are
hundreds of websites. I have many stories from manufacturers that have used
these sites and paid huge sums of money and at the end got nothing.

In regards to Bob's question, for Malaysia EMC, SIRIM will accept EU
emc test reports

        Best Regards

                Hi Bob,

There is not requirment for EMC.

If it’s a radio transmitter device, it’s require SIRIM
approval; For the safety aspect, you can use CB report instead.

                Worldly Experts,

I am trying to determine what (if any) EMC requirements exist
for Malaysia. The product in question is a commercial ITE (computing device)
with optional RFID reader (13.56 MHz).

Google has not been my friend on this one. Lots of hits
relating to the company named EMC Malaysia though. It also appears (to me)
that searching the listserv archives is no longer a simple task since changing
to the new host. I haven't been able to figure that one out.

I'd be most grateful for any pointers.

                adTHANKSvance,

                Bob Sykes
