This statement is incorrect. Is the manufacturer required to get NRTL listing in order to sell? Not that I know of. In Europe and many other places you are required to get approvals to put the product on the market. North America works it differently. The electrical code, OSHA and most other regulators require the NRTL listing to use the product.
