I bought IEC 60974-10 (2007-08) and have read through it. It is fine as it goes, but it doesn't really address what the electromagnetic environment is like DURING welding. The standard treats welders as just another power source and terminates the welder into a "conventional load", which I take to mean a resistive load. This is good so far as it goes. The manufacturer of the welder has little control over how the welder is used in the field. But the customer's concern is about the electromagnetic environment near the welder while in use in the field.
So my last (and now most important) question is: Is there any literature describing the electromagnetic environment around TIG and MIG welders while in operation in the field?
