It is very unusual, I think, for an IEC standard to have a transition 
date. These are much more associated with ENs, although even the date in 
the EN is not, per se, of much significance. What is significant in 
terms of complying with European Directives is the date given in the 
Official Journal, the docopocoss, at which conformity to any previous EN 
or national standard no longer gives a presumption of compliance with 
the relevant Directive.
