And of course, if you are an accredited lab, your pallets would be calibrated with a sticker and certificate with NIST traceability. You would also need a procedure for using and handling your pallets correctly. If your pallets leave the control of your department, you will have to have a verification procedure to make sure they are still in calibration before you can use them again. Only properly trained and certified personnel could use and handle pallets. Pallets that are not certified would have to be red tagged so they are not inadvertently used for testing.
I know this sounds crazy, but we once had a calibrated bucket of sand used for testing LCD displays.
