I would say that it is necessary to exercise the EUT in a manner similar to
or the same as in normal uage.  Similar in that it may be necessary to
excerpt and repeat specific modes of operation that need to be exercised to
create the noisiest and/or most susceptible modes of operation.

Putting it out there for all to see; often it is the non-native speakers who
have the best grammatical grasp of the language...
