Is it really an intermittent signal? From your description, it seems that you may have been looking at a framing signal or similar. If it's a continuous signal, I assume that QP detector would show same amplitude as Peak detection?
Ethernet cabled signal come in just fine at closely spaced intervals all over the dial on my SW radio at home. _______________________________________________________________________________ Ralph McDiarmid | Schneider Electric | Solar Business | CANADA | Regulatory Compliance Engineering From: Ken Javor <[email protected]> To: [email protected], Date: 11/27/2012 12:58 PM Subject: [PSES] Quasi-peak detector Performing troubleshoot testing to CISPR type radiated emissions requirements without a quasi-peak detector. Seeing results of bus traffic on an Ethernet cable. Squeezing down to zero-span mode and adjusting sweep speed, a roughly 500 us 50% duty cycle waveform is observed. Is it accurate to expect no “relief” during a full qualification testing using a quasi-peak detector for this type of intermittent signal?
