The 2013 IEEE International Symposium on EMC will be held the week of August 5 in Denver, Colorado. I'm not sure what the registration fees are, but as an IEEE member I have $600 budgeted that that is likely to cover it.
You all should plan on attending. Denver is a great venue and I'm looking forward to the committee doing a great job on the symposium. Ghery S. Pettit From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] On Behalf Of McInturff, Gary Sent: Wednesday, October 31, 2012 1:30 PM To: '[email protected]' Subject: Chinese Medical Standard and EMC symposium for 2013 1) Are there any major differences between China's GB 9706.1-2007 Medical electrical equipment - part 1 General requirements for safety and the base IEC document on which it is based? The customer ran a 3,000 volt Dielectric withstand test on a 5 volt hand held secondary device. It failed at that point and the claim is that the 3k is required for Chinese safety. I think they are off a column based on 60601-1. They seem to be looking at the mains connected equipment and not 5 volt secondary stuff. Without the exact standard in my hand I can't verify that. 2) We are in the planning stages for next year's training budget and I would like to throw in the cost for the EMC symposium. Does anybody have the entry fee and any idea where it will be held this year.
