That is a frustrating aspect of EU Directives.  Might not be a huge deal for consumer products that have a short life-span, but for commercial/industrial products which have longer lives it can be a nuisance.  I don?t know how many times I?ve been asked ?but aren?t we grandfathered??

It's up to the industry sectors that make 'long-life' products to lobby the European Commission **en masse** on the subject. It has to be a concerted effort, embracing all relevant sectors.

If you don't ask, you don't get. If you do ask, you might still not get, but it's worth trying.
