Oh, your impression of China is a history.  We encourage and welcome you to 
visit the major cities; Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, etc. of China 
and you will shock to discover not much different from London, Berlin, New 
York, Sydney, Tokyo, Seoul, etc, worldwide cities.  Although I have been 
visiting China often in last 20 years, I notice the changes in every trip.
