"An example I would give would be somebody using a
metal fork or knife to remove a piece of bread
stuck in a toaster."

I would say that bread stuck in a toaster is
abnormal toaster operation, not misuse. Bread
stuck in a toaster is as common as a paper jam in
a printer. Using a tool to remove the stuck bread
or paper is a misuse? Perhaps tool misuse.
Neither toaster nor printer manufacturers provide
tools for removing stuck bread or paper. So, the
user is forced to improvise and misuse a tool.

Best regards,
Rich
