Hi folks, I'm looking for a/the standard that defines reference designators for electrical/mechanical components that would be used for identifying those components physically and on the associated documentation. i.e. "R" for resistor, "C" for capacitor, "CB" for circuit breaker, "F" for fuse, "M" for motor etc.
Is anyone familiar with IEC 81346-2:2009 Industrial systems, installations and equipment and industrial products -- Structuring principles and reference designations -- Part 2: Classification of objects and codes for classes? I'd like to confirm if that's what I'm looking for before I buy it. I can't tell from looking at the previews. I already have IEC 81346-1 which is general. Thanks -Dave David P.
