:)

But, can you imagine a country so crazy that the people might park on a
driveway, and drive on the parkway?

Michael.

Correct – the word antennas is correct when speaking of more than one radio
antenna. ‘Antennae’ is for more than one insect antenna

And a Bonnet is something a woman wears, not the HOOD of a car :)

You mean “Queen’s English” and “Incorrect English”?

(I’m joking, of course!)

I’ll show my ignorance here and open myself to ridicule no doubt, but, I think;
only critters can have antennae and only radio folks can have antennas.

Antennae in a test lab, simply means someone left the window open on a hot day.

Antennas on a bug, simply means he’s calling home.

Unless, as John pointed out, a bee is using his GPS.

Michael.

Isn’t this just a usage issue between the Queen’s English and US English? ;-)

I feel like this is not going to do anything positive to solve all the miss-use
of the word ‘antennae’ in technical documents! :-)

Soon we’ll have ants with antennae and antennas.

I’ve put an inquiry in to the entomology department at the University of
Guelph, Canada’s preeminent agricultural university. If anyone is likely to
have an expert on this topic, U of G will. I’ll let you know if I hear anything
interesting back!
