Esteemed colleagues, We have a product rated 1500W with a keyed IEC 60320 C-16 inlet. The C-16 inlet is used for 15A cables for North America (120Vac).
For countries that use 230Vac, we have been trying to locate power cords with keyed C-15 plugs with little success. Someone has asked if we can use a C-14 to C-15 adapter cable, to allow connection of standard C-13 power cords. The adapter cable has CE, UL and CSA approvals, and is rated at 15A 250Vac. You can see a spec here: http://internationalconfig.com/documents/98715X3FT.pdf I know next to nothing about power cord requirements. If we use a country-approved power cable and this adapter, would we comply with local requirements? In particular we are looking at Europe, Argentina, UK, Australia and Switzerland.
