If you will be working on CE marked machinery then review the requirements for the technical file in the Machinery Directive. Also review requirements in the Low Voltage Directive whether machinery or not.

Recently began a new opportunity, which encompasses EMC and Product Safety for automation. Only begun reading SEMI S2/S8, and IEC 61010-1. My questions are: 1. Additional standards I should learn? 2. Besides EMC and Safety testing testing what other documents is needed for safety, ie. critical component list? 3. How long does the whole process take? Any help would be great. -Frank - ---------------------------------------------------------------- This message is from the IEEE Product Safety Engineering Society emc-pstc discussion list.
