Hi Pete,

OSHA link shows that an NRTL is required for some equipment for the workplace:
https://www.osha.gov/nationally-recognized-testing-laboratory-program/products-requiring-approval

OSHA link for the Code of Regulations regarding NRTLs and workplace:
https://www.ecfr.gov/current/title-29/subtitle-B/chapter-XVII/part-1910

Thank-you,

Subject: [PSES] Mandatory NRTL certification

Happy New Year to all

I was asked by one of the engineers that I work with if getting safety
certification for a product in the US is mandatory or not? i.e do manufacturer
of electrical or electronics have to have certification from NRTL or other 3rd
party labs? The products in question are 100% used in professional environment
and are not intended for general consumer market. If this is a mandatory
requirement, where can I see the requirements written?

Thanks

Pete
