The Gateway Profile 3 is essentially a laptop with a separate keyboard. It has an external power supply pod, like most laptops. They are now selling on eBay around $150. Watch out for damaged screens. There is a "magic touch" touch screen unit that can be fitted to the front of the PC. It doesn't work well with the Axis GUI of EMC2 due to the small icon/button size, but can be used with the TKEMC GUI quite well. This touch screen is very solid, and can act a s a screen protector for the computer.
I have verified that it runs quite well with EMC2, rtai, and Ubuntu, and has no problems with real-time response fluctuations.
