Hi Stuart.
This is what I know by way of answers to your questions. I believe that we would need to write the G-Code program to run them. Perhaps what I should do is start a wiki page that includes the dxf. I'll get that info from Roland and get started at it. Thanks for the nudge. > Would someone list what is currently prepared and what needs to be > prepared? Roland has made a few of these on his Bridgeport/Centroid. He retrofitted a lathe using the design a couple of years ago. > Is Roland the contact at Cardinal? Yes. > Will Roland put the project on his website or would it be better >managed on another? I believe that he just completed an article for Digital Machinist that will detail the motor mounts. They are made from 1/2 inch aluminum with at least three tapped holes and a center bore for the motor. > Does Roland want the motor mounts running before the workshop? Is >he making parts with the Mazak project machine now? I don't know that he is making parts with it right now. I suspect that's why he invited me for a visit. The Mazak is retrofitted to the point where it is capable of making parts. I saw the test piece made last summer that used three tools and included rigid tapping. Great work and thanks to all the folk who have contributed to that setup. I believe Roland plans to use these motor mounts as a demonstration of the EMC/Mazak. He also plans to have several sets of these at the Raffle at the end of the workshop. You should feel free to contact Roland at cnc-workshop anytime.
