The background of the cardinal cnc-workshop main page has a 
picture of one of his machines.  The motor mount, I'm guessing,
is the sort of dog-bone shaped piece that adapts to the milling 
machine's bearing bracket, and holds the motor about 8" inches
away.

I assume he is using his Turner Technology controller, Roland 
used to be a dealer for them.  So, he should have standard 
G-code for the part.  There shouldn't be a lot of tools 
required, maybe 4 or 5 tops.  If Roland already has some sort of 
fixture that holds the blank, then the program could cut the 
entire exterior shape on one setup.
