Hi Guys. I am Juanjo, and lived in Argentina South America. Well, some time ago i read the post and the features on the well done EMC2. and now i thinking to make a testing in my Machining center, (a big one) a Huller NBH-150. Basically a 4 axis horizontal milling machine with a gantry type tool changer robot. the Spindle is drive by a 40 hp. motor.
The machine have a Brazilian made Maxitec CNC System3. (a sinumerik system 3) is a little aged for the news cncs. so i see in the links a guy retrofitting a Mazak mill so it have me encorage to thinking a intesive labor of this type in my machine. but i have a dude, due i see mostly hobby and small type of machines running EMC2, this is not as secured now to try in the big ones ?? Anybody see a EMC2 in a big machine running fine? the machine have X,Y,Z B, X1,Y1(robot) , C axis, the axis are driven by DC servos (BrowBobery) the x,y,z have linear scales, the others encoders, and for a idea the mass is 18Tn. and tha max amperes taked from the mains is 110 A in 380V x3. so is a little more than a desktop (i also doing a desktop mill, for hobby use. y casting tha whole machine in machine grade iron, i have a set of 3 casting.now i machined tha table of one, using the same dimensions of a Tslot of the unimat 3 milling table, to use the accesories of it). Well thanks by the advice, and sorry by my english is very poor! greetings.
